Dodgers win their first title in 32 years.
The LA Dodgers have won their first championship in 32 years. After two final defeats in the past three years, they made the title win on Tuesday in the sixth game of the World Series with a 3-1 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
“First off, we should congratulate them on an incredible season and a highly competitive series,” said owner and chairman of the Dodgers, Mark Walter. ?This win is for our fans. Thank you Los Angeles, thank you to the Dodgers fans everywhere. It has been 32 long years since we were last celebrated as Masters. This trophy is for the biggest fans in Major League Baseball.”
The final step, however, was a tough job. Tampa Bay underlined its comeback qualities at the beginning. Randy Arozarena extended his rookie record with his tenth playoff home run and thus gave the Rays an early lead. But in the seventh inning, the Dodgers turned the game around within minutes.
At the press conference, Rays manager Kevin Cash’s disappointment gave way to pride: ?It was a tough season with many adverse circumstances. It’s an honor to have been part of this team. I would also like to congratulate the Dodgers on the championship. ”
Justin Turner, 3rd baseman for the Dodgers, was substituted off in the eighth inning after previously testing positive for the coronavirus. During the game, the Dodgers should have been informed, confirmed league boss Rob Manfred.
Turner wrote on Twitter: ?I feel great, have no symptoms at all. I’ve just lived through every emotion you can think of. I can’t believe I can’t be out there to party with my boys! But I’m so proud of this team. “
