Basic Strategy to Play Blackjack Online
Do you want to try your hand at gambling without even leaving your home? Blackjack is one of the most popular and classic casino games that you could be playing online with some simple clicks.
Blackjack is simple to learn, and you can develop a general strategy to maximize your probabilities of winning against the dealer.
The goal of this game is to get as close to a score of 21 as possible without going over. Aces are worth either one point or 11, either works better in your favor. Face cards, such as Jack, Queen, King are worth ten points each. Each player starts with two cards; one of the dealer’s cards stays covered up until the end. The players then have an option to “hit” and take another card or to “stand” and not take cards anymore. A dealer must hit until his cards total 17 or higher. If none of them goes over 21, this is a “bust”. An Ace and a ten card together are an automatic win, or “Blackjack”.
Since the goal of the game is to beat the dealer, players should “stand” when their two cards total 17 or higher, as this would beat or tie a 17. A player needs to be more careful with a hand between 12 and 16. If the dealer’s card that’s showing is a seven or higher, then there’s more of a chance that he will be able to stand on a 17 or higher, as the hidden card has a decent probability of being a face card. Thus it would be worth risking a bust for the player to hit on his hand that’s under 16. However, if the dealer only has a six or below showing, a face card would mean he still has to hit, and risk busting on his hand. So if the dealer has a six or below, it would be better to stay in this situation.
