The life of the Swedish center forward becomes a film. Filming began in Sweden and will end in Amsterdam. The release in Italian cinemas is scheduled for autumn 2021
A film about an extraordinary career. The story of a difficult and beautiful life, the joys and the sorrows, the triumphs and the defeats, all in one film, “I am Zlatan”. The cinema release of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s great adventure is scheduled for autumn 2021, and will arrive in Italian cinemas with Lucky Red. The biopic directed by Jens Sjogren is taken from his autobiography “Io, Ibra”, made with David Lagercrantz, who also wrote the screenplay with Jakob Beckman. The AC Milan striker was involved in the project and provided advice at every stage of the film’s script writing process.
The character of Ibrahimovic will be played by two actors who will retrace two stages in the life of the Swede: Dominic Bajraktari Andersson (for the period from 11 to 13 years) and Granit Rushiti (for the period from 17 to 23 years). Shooting for the film began a few weeks ago in Sweden and will end in Amsterdam, the city where Ibra started his career with Ajax. Andrea Occhipinti, president of Lucky Red, said: “Ibrahimovic is much more than a footballer: he is a pure leader, a legendary icon, a way of being that belongs only to him and that cannot be replicated. The story of this myth contemporary that in Italy has found its highest consecration, could only become a great story for cinema “.
